Dear Friends,

I  invite friends around the church to pray for Bishop Rod BrantFrancis and the people of God in the Diocese of Moosonee as they gather in Cochrane for a Sacred Assembly this week. 

This will be the first Sacred Assembly in Moosonee since Bishop Rod was consecrated Bishop of Moosonee in May 2025. This Assembly will have many parts to it as delegates from James Bay Deanery and Watershed Deanery come together for prayer and worship, fellowship, learning and renewal of friendships. It is going to be a rich and wonderful time. 

The Sacred Assembly will begin with a diocesan synod chaired by Bishop Rod who will deliver his first Charge to Moosonee casting a vision for the coming years.

The Assembly will have many parts to it. Following reports to Synod it will move into a time of learning with Bishop Susan Bell and Archbishop Anne on Anglican Polity and Pastoral Care. And what would a gathering in Moosonee be without a gospel jamboree and some line dancing? 

The Assembly will close on Thursday with an ordination service at which Bishop Bell will be the preacher.
